ANother comment regarding Mike Doyle’s note. We have experience where 3mg of naltrexone dose more than merely block the pain relieving effects of Vicodin. A local doctor reported that his patient actually experience withdrawal symptoms after using LDN. My final advice is DO NOT use LDN if you are using opioids – or if you have been using them recently.

P.S. on my “off LDN days” I’m taking 1 dose of 10 mg prednisone AND about 12 hours later, 5 1/2 mg prednisone…

Mike,
I’m on 2nd week of LDN 3mg. but also taking 12 1/2 mg. prednisone daily (down gradually over 5 years from 100 mg.!!!) I’ve read that the prednisone will cancel out the LDN & viceversa.
So I’m trying the LDN every other day and 10 mg. of prednisone on the LDN days as far apart as I can (10-12 hours).
I am concerned that the prednisone may be diminished because I’m having a LOT more pain & inflammation but also quit taking tramadol for pain AND plaquinel about 2 weeks ago to take the LDN.
What you’re saying seems to make sense but wondering if you have any resources you’ve found for this info.

Prednisone is not an issue. It isn’t an opioid. Professionally, I would not recommend that anyone could take naltrexone of any strength – with Vicodin of any strength.

Since the duration of action of LDN is 5 hours, you can take LDN in the evening and Vicodin or prednisone (up to 10 mg) in the morning if needed. You shouldn’t take LDN and Vicodin at the same time, as the LDN will cancel the Vicodin and waste valuable pain medication.
